a spell and invocation for supporting black lives, woven with reiki

As many of you know,  I  created a ritual for The Golden Dome School's  opening ceremony for their tarot fundraiser last weekend. All proceeds from readings booked with participating healing artists  went to  For the Gworls, National Bail Out,  UndocuBlack Network, and G.L.I.T.S.  $12,092.33 in total was donated!  Below I am posting the ritual  - it was originally posted to The Golden Dome School's page as a carousel post with text included as the caption.

The intention of this ritual is to open us up for reflection and healing. To face our shadows, release excuses and displacing blame,  and to make ourselves ready for action aligned with our highest and best good.  

this is a spell and invocation, woven with reiki

my inclination, as a human, as a healer, is to share words that will bring us together
to allow you comfort as I hold space
this inclination is a trap. not always. but now it is.
few of us are allowed comfort now
comfort takes away urgency
comfort takes away the need to act
comfort allows the responsibility to be shifted
shifted from one body onto another
shifted from one life onto another
this responsibility is deadly in the wrong hands
a burden one was never meant to carry

some things are not mine to hold
some problems are not mine to solve
my responsibility?
to tend to my soul
to send to whom I carry within me the love and space that was stolen from them
to call in the ease and grace that my ancestors were not afforded
that we are not freely given now. that still has to be fought for, still debated and too often dismissed

what makes now different for you?
what makes now the time you decide to act?
because you have known
and your parents have known
and your grandparents
and your great grandparents and their parents and theirs and so on and so on
you have always known

I choose to send you love now because that is what I am
my love is not conditional
but it is also no fool
my love carries responsibility
my love has standards
my love puts you to work
it doesn’t require you to be on your knees
but it does demand your investment
this love must be fed
not with words or pennies but with the whole of you
your mind, your body, your soul
the parts of you you don’t let other people see
the parts of you you dismiss and abuse
take those parts of you and claim them
hold them
heal them
they cannot be left by the wayside to be cared for another day

can you untangle the knots that you have created?
there is a somber gift that is being presented to you now
what quality of life will you choose to create with it?

the choice has always been yours
it already is
