Yesterday, I went live on Instagram with What's Your Sign Podcast to lead a meditation for today's new moon in Aries! It was great fun to connect with folks even when we are apart. Just one little bit of proof that there is so much love that is being shared through this trying time. This meditation celebrates that and holds space for our new growth and potential. So get settled in, create a space for you to be receptive, and enjoy the text below. I hope it allows for healthful reflection and planning of big dreams! for this meditation, I want to hold space for our potential. for the growth and possibilities to come. because though we may be in a moment of pause now, seeds are being planted. breaths are being taken. new timelines are being born. so let us take a moment to honor that. to honor the change. to honor the shift. to honor new ways for us to live as a society. we must create the vessel and the container for this newness. we are that vessel. we speak new beginnings into creation simply through our intent and will. the phrase for Aries is "I AM". which signifies the will to exist. it is a declaration of life and awareness and consciousness. and we have to remember now that life continues. that we are still here. that we live and breathe in this moment. and we cannot give up on ourselves or our communities. so let us be present with the potential of darkness. of living inwardly. what does Aries see in this darkness? Aries, our fire starter, our doer, our actor, sees a space to begin. a place to make a mark. we are being born in this moment. the declaration of “I AM” is the breath of life. we all have our reasons for being here now. conscious and subconscious. why would you choose this moment? what brought you to this place? what gifts are here for you? what wisdom are you seeking? what ecstasies burn within? because your desires matter. and to know your desires, you must know yourself. and to know yourself, you must sit with yourself. with the intimacy of presence. with tenderness. with all the delicacy and wonder of how you would sit with a newborn. you see the potential in them don’t you? the sudden explosion of life manifested in a breathing, living being. let that be a mirror for your own heart, for your own manifestations, your own intentions. I want us to start out by just closing your eyes. sit or lay in a position that feels comfortable to you. take note of any aspect of yourself that feels unsettled, achy, or nervous. relax and breathe into these parts of you. let them be heard but don’t dwell on them. send them love. know that they are cared for. honor that you have a body. honor this vessel. wiggle your toes. note your legs, your pelvis, your sit bone, connecting you to the earth. take note of your belly, your lower and mid back. breathe through your belly. feel your breath filling your chest. your heart open. your throat clear. your head and mind available to receive. I want you to think about the space that we perceive between the strike of lightning and the crack of thunder. in reality, there is no space at all, they both happen simultaneously, in an instant. but to our human perception, there is a pause. there is a similar pause between the striking of a coal and when you create a fire. whether you are lighting a match or striking a lighter, there is a moment, however infinitesimal, in which the magic of the reaction is happening, unseen but waiting to bloom. see yourself in this space. make yourself empty, like a chalice waiting to be filled, lungs ready to receive air. and the only thing we’re going to pour into this chalice, into this breath, into this hearth is more of you, so trust that there is nothing to be afraid of in this quiet, in this space between worlds. when you’re watching a storm or building a fire, there’s an anticipation that you feel. like taking a breath, the first breath. it feels primordial, primitive, before language. I want you to consider this space and sit in it for a little while. what comes up for you - fear? excitement? confusion? all of the above? all is valid, all is being heard. consider this to be the space of conception, where we announce our first steps into our beginning. there is no room for judgement here - all is possible, all is sacred, all is worth holding and caring for. as we exist in this in between space, consider: if you could be born again, what would you do differently? what dreams would you fulfill? who would you become? who are you? if you had all the love and options in the world, which we do, how would you be born? sit with this and breathe. and as the wheel shifts, let it be like an exhalation. a deep cleansing exhalation. your birth into the world. in front of you the whole world wide open for you to grow in. the potential, simultaneously buzzing within you and expanding beyond. the potential feels soft and welcoming. it feels like the sun on your skin. you feel held, gently, in such a way that you feel supported and open. it feels like the smell of sweetness in the air. your mouth waters at the possibilities. eager to taste the fruit of your dreaming. your bright and fresh eyes, the ones you see with and the one and you feel with, they look towards the horizon and you see in front of you the whole world wide open for you to grow in. the landscapes are varied but they are all within reach. you see yourself as a part of them, and they a part of you. slowly bring your attention back to the present. to your body now as it is in this moment. you are here in this moment. and whether or not you can reach over and touch someone you love right now, you are still loved. still worthy. still vital. and you choose to take the responsibility of creating and manifesting your dreams. it is a burden that you are happy to carry. because it is for you. it is for the love of you. you are, we are, I am. we are here. we are important. we are one. thank you for being here.
